By now, we have all heard multiple reports on Melo's future. He's going to stay with the Nuggets, he's going to sign with the Knicks, he's going to the Nets (Bahahahaha! Nets fan were stupid to think that this would actually happen) and at one point or another, there could have been truth in any of these reports. Melo mentioned in an interview with ESPN a couple of weeks ago, that it is his dream to play in NY. I think by now we all know he was talking about the Knicks and not the "Brooklyn" Nets (They will always be a NJ team to me) seeing as how he refused to even meet with them. Side note here, the Nets are such an unattractive destination for any NBA player that Chauncy Billups mentioned he would rather buy out his own contract than play for the Nets. LOL.
Here's another angle to the rumors. Although this is a sports blog, seeing how I am a girl and girls love gossip (Just admit it ladies), I decided to throw in some sports gossip to the Melo debate in order to spice things up a bit and add some more fuel to the fire. I just found out that Amare Stoudemire is dating Ciara. What does this have to do with the Carmelo Anthony you ask? Well, little known fact is that Ciara is best friends with Lala Vasquez...wife of Carmelo Anthony. Hmm, I wonder if Amare is using Ciara to get to Melo. I guess that would be a win-win situation for him either way.
On to the NFL. It's the day after the Jets lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Seeing as how I am a Giants fan, I didn't really have much invested into the game and didn't really care either way. That being said, as a New Yorker, it would have been nice to see the other NY team move on to the Superbowl (I am pretty sure I lost all the Mets fans there with that concept). Plus also, I think we all wanted to see what Rex Ryan and the rest of the entertaining Jets would have said before the big game. There would have been cheese jokes and foot jokes galore and it would have great. But I guess it wasn't meant to be......

I think the Nets should have realized that he didn't want to be a net when the trade rumors popped up before the season started..Too bad the knicks don't have anything worthwhile to pull off this trade right now
ReplyDeleteActually, the Nuggets are interested in Randolph, Eddy Curry's expiring contract, Gallinari or Chandler and a first round pick which the Knicks would be able to pull off. Another thing the Nuggets were looking at was trading Billups for Felton but the Knicks would be absolute idiots if they did that.
