Welcome to Sanny P's Sports Rant!

I literally live, breathe and sleep sports. I love sports. Some may call me a sports fanatic. If there is a sports related discussion or topic going on amongst friends and sometimes even strangers, I always have to put my two cents in. So, on the advice of my cousin, I decided to create this blog to share my sports musings with the world. If you love sports or me, follow along. And if you don't, don't bother me...I got a game to watch.

Day 5: The Knicks upset the Heat, Charles Barkley is an idiot and a Melo update

It is 4 days after the Knicks beat the Heat and I have to say, being the die-hard Knicks fan that I am, it was nice to finally hear the Garden rocking again. It felt like a playoff game. The last time I remember the Garden that loud was Larry Johnson's 4 point play in the playoffs. For those of you who need to refresh your memory, the video is below:

I also don't remember the last time TNT televised a game at MSG. It had been awhile. However, the tradition of unnecessarily bashing the Knicks continued during the TNT broadcast. Sir Charles, although he stated that Landry Fields is better than John Wall, quickly made himself a fool by stating that the Knicks don't have the ability to win in the playoffs.

Really, Charles? Really? They can't win one series even? Now mind you, I know the Knicks are missing important pieces (ahem..MELO! Sorry strange cough there) that will make them a championship contender but to say that the Knicks can't win at all in the playoffs is like saying Charles Barkley is intelligent. It's just downright preposterous. Sorry Barkley, how about you stick to what you're good at? Like gambling away all your money or popping back burgers like they are mini-muffins. You fat buffoon.

Latest on the Melo front: Knicks are working on a deal to bring Mark Warkentien, ex GM of the Nuggets over to the Knicks as a consultant, the role that Isiah Thomas used to hold within the organization. This is a great move because not only does it keep Isiah from getting his job back but its another step in the Knicks pursuit of Melo. Warkentien is very close to Melo and when told that the Knicks offered a job to Warkentien, Melo seemed very surprised and said, "Did they really? Is that surprising? Yeah. It's a great addition to the organization, but you just really caught me off guard with that one." Hmmm..it sounds like Melo sounded surprised and maybe impressed, perhaps? I guess we'll know by February 24th.
