Day 10: Initial Analysis of the G-Men

So much (or so little) has gone on with the Giants going into the season that I decided to wait a little before I posted my initial analysis. I will say, on first look, I had no idea what the Giants were doing. First let me address the major issues. Letting Boss go was huge. It was even more huge than losing Smith (bastard son of a bitch) because we needed a strong, sure-handed, reliable receiver up the middle after not getting Plax back here.

As far Steve Smith goes, screw him. Listen, I was a huge fan of Steve Smith and I also followed him on facebook. He always spouted his loyalty to the Giants and he used to make fun of the Eagles all the time. And now he's going to the Eagles???? He could have gone to any other team..but the Eagles, for reals?? Take your bum leg and leave then. The Giants don't owe you anything.
Losing Plax to the Jets hurt but one thing I am realizing about Plax is he hates rules. That is the main reason he didn't want to sign with the G-Men, because he couldn't follow rules. Couldn't follow NY City laws or the Giants rules. And the rules were to SHOW UP TO PRACTICE. That is your job, dude. I don't care who you are. What, the Giants and Coughlin were supposed to treat you with kid gloves since you were the star receiver? Get out of here. No one gets special treatment and instead of just being a man and doing what you were supposed to do, you instead whine about it and shoot yourself in the leg. Nice job. Go ahead, go to the Jets. I am happy but surprised the Eagles didn't pick you up. That team loves ex-cons.

The Osi situation is a little irritating I must admit. I get his point but at the same time, I feel like we go through this with Osi every other year. Like dude, you have two years left on your contract. Shut up and freagin play. Or take a one year and go test the waters. Thats fine too. I was a little bit more upset a few weeks ago about the possibility of Osi leaving the Giants, but after seeing JPP play last night against the Panthers, I think I am ok with it. Lol. I still want him to sign because with Tuck, Osi, JPP, and Kiwanuka, every QB that faces the Giants is going to eat some serious dirt. But last night showed me it wasn't an absolute necessity.

Receiving core: I actually think the Giants have some weapons here people are forgetting. Yes, we lost Boss and Smith but I think Manningham and Nicks are awesome and are only going to improve every year they play. Now, if they can just hold on to the ball. They were the cause of at least 7 of Eli's interceptions last year. It's not a hot potato, mofos. Its a football. Stop greasing your gloves up with butter before the game and catch the damn thing. And let's not forget that Hixon is back, which will not only improve the receiving possibilities but also the kick return.

That leads me into the special teams. Oh man, did the Giants look straight up horrendous on special teams last year. Lawrence Tynes is still as inconsistent as usual and Matt Dodge can't punt a football to save his life. Good news on that front is that they hired one of the most acclaimed special teams coaches out there, ex-Patriot and Jets special teams coach, Larry Izzo. He's bound to clean up the Giants act.

QB: I know people give Eli a lot of flack but honestly he had a career year last year. He threw for over 4000 yards, had 31 TDs and, yes, 25 interceptions but like I said earlier, at least 7 or 8 of those were the fault of the receivers. So his stats are more like 31 TDs, 17 interceptions which is still not the greatest but a lot better the actual numbers tell. Besides, you have to realize losing his automatic weapons last year, Hixon at the beginning of the year, Smith during the year and Manningham and Nicks for a few games in between, Eli was pressing to find receivers to throw to and likewise, probably threw balls he shouldnt have. I like Eli. As long as his O-line can give him some time and his young receivers learn how to hold on to the ball, he'll be fine.

O-Line: The news of O'Hara and Seubert both leaving were huge blows to me. O'Hara was getting up in age but both he and Seubert were both work horses and hustled and played hard. Getting Baas from the 49ers was huge. He's younger than O-Hara, has better hands and is quick. David Diehl is still a force up the middle and him along with Koets and Kareem McKenzie should provide ample protection for Eli while Baas learns the system.

D-Line: The Giants have had a great D-Line the last few years and this year, it looks to be just plain retarded again. JPP is going to have a monster year. He's a explosive beast and now that he knows all of Fewell's plays, he just reacting as soon as the ball is snapped. This was evident in the Giants preseason game against the Panthers yesterday. And he did this all against two-time Pro-Bowler, Jordan Gross. Dude is going to have a sick year and if the Giants get Osi back on the team, I will go on a limb and say the Giants will lead the league in sacks this year. Add in the raw talent of rookie, Marvin Austin, and the Giants D-Line looks unstoppable.

Secondary: I was so so so excited when the Giants got Prince Amukumara. I know he still has to prove himself but they are calling this kid a Young Revis. And then he goes and breaks his foot the first day of practice. Sigh... but the good news is, he will only miss the first 5 games and then be back with the team. Chances are, of course, he wont be back up to speed in 5 games but I am hoping he'll still have an impact on the Giants later in the year, when it counts. Antrel Rolle and healthy Kenny Phillips are a great tandem in the backfield and the addition of rookies like Michael Coe (who impressed me with his D last night on what would have been a wide open catch in the endzone) ensure that as long as the secondary is healthy, QBs (if they can get the ball off with our D-line hounding them) will have a hard time passing the ball down the field.

All in all, I think the Giants have a very raw, yet underrated team this year which is a position they love to be in. The last time they didnt make any offseason moves and were this underrated was in 2008. And we all what happened that year. Brady is still having nightmares about that one. :)

Day 9: NBA finals pick and the Lebron vs Kobe debate (Lebron wins)

So we now know who will be facing off in the NBA finals and I have to say I am pretty surprised by the final teams. I am not surprised Dallas is in the way Dirk and the Mavs have been playing, but I will say if you asked me who was going to be in the finals out of the West a couple of months ago, I am not sure I would have picked Dallas. I knew it wasn't going to be LA the way the were lumbering into the postseason and the Spurs didn't seem to be playing all that well either. My pick was actually OKC not knowing Dirk was going to go buck nutty in the playoffs. I was actually pulling for OKC because Durant is such a class act. What a great young, talented athlete with an awesome head on his shoulders. His teammate, Westbrook, not so much but, then again, he is so young he has time to grow and, hopefully, mature. But I was also pulling for Dirk too because his career reminds me of Ewing. Not at all in the way they play, they have two totally different playing styles. But in the amount of grittiness and toughness both of them had and there ability to get their teams to the postseason every year but not quite make it over that hump to win the championship. Dirk finally has some stars around him to help him get the ring, something Ewing never had. And Durant, as talented as he is, will definitely have his opportunities to win a championship in the future, I am sure of it. So the time is now for Dirk which brings me to the topic of Lebron and the Miami Heat.

Ok, I will admit I was rooting against the Heat, not because I am a Lebron hater like everyone else seems to be, but because I have a feeling, and we are seeing it right now, that as an Eastern conference team the Heat are going to be a bane in the Knicks side (and every team's side) for the foreseeable future and as a Knicks fan, I wanted to see them fail. Lol. It's the same reason I was rooting FOR Miami against Boston after Boston swept the Knicks. At least with the Heat, I understand why they are so dominant. They have crazy defense and two and a quarter superstars in Lebron, Wade and Bosh. I get it. With Boston, it drives me crazy when people laud them. They are an old ass team that right now is completely overrated. They get lauded for their defense and their D is HORRENDOUS. Correct me if I am wrong but fouling every play and not getting called for it is not good D. The Bulls have better D than Boston. Boston is just a bunch of old hacks and its no coincidence that both Chauncey and Amare got hurt playing them. I hate seeing teams move on in the postseason that don't deserve to move on. Dallas, I get it. Miami, I get it. Boston, so glad they were shown to be the chump team they really are. The only thing Boston has going for them is that they have an AMAZING coach and Ray Allen. Other than that, I'll take my bets against them next year against any team in the East including the Knicks. That's right, I said it. Suck on that, Boston fans. And by the way, if you are a Boston fan, you should not be following my blog. I will rip into all of your teams. Same applies to Philadelphia fans. Fuck Boston, fuck Philadelphia and any other wannabe NY city. You're not NY. Get over it.

Wow, my hate for Boston and Philly got me off track there for a second. Back to Miami. The reason I root against Miami is the same reason people root against my Yankees. Its the same reason people have been rooting against the Lakers. People root against the teams that are good and threaten their team. I hate the Red Sox because they had beaten the Yankees the last few years. But before they actually beat the Yankees in the postseason, I couldn't have given two shits about them. They didn't threaten the Yankees so why should I care. It's the same reason I hate the Eagles. The Eagles seem to have the Giants number. I don't hate the Skins because the Skins never beat us. Chris Rock said it best when he came up to my college, University of Buffalo, to perform and said "People hate the Yankees because the Yankees are good. People hate the Lakers for the same reason. No one hates the Clippers. That would be ridiculous if someone was like 'Man, fuck the Clippers!!!' Sounds crazy as hell. No one hate the Clippers, no one hate the Lions, no one hates the Buffalo Bills!" Hahaha. The greatest part about that joke is that he said that to a Buffalo crowd. So awesome.

I will say this about Lebron. He DESERVES a ring and in my mind, he's the best all-around player in the NBA. He IS better than Kobe. Now, I am know some of you are going to jump down my throat about that statement but to me, if you are talking about all around player, you have to go with Lebron. Kobe may be a better SHOOTER, but that's all Kobe's got. Kobe can't defend like Lebron can, he can't block shots like Lebron can, he can't pass the ball like Lebron can, he can't rebound like Lebron, Kobe can't make his team better like Lebron can. Kobe NEEDED Shaq to win championships and after Shaq, he NEEDED Gasol, Artest, Odom and Bynum. There is no way Kobe's game could have single-handedly brought the Lakers anywhere close to the finals. Lebron, on the other hand, made a bunch of scrubs like Mo Williams and Ilgauskus look like all-stars. Only when he left, you realized how below par these players really are. Now, I know some of you idiots will bring up the whole championship thing "Does Lebron have more rings than Kobe?" and to me that is the dumbest argument ever. Yes, Kobe has rings and Lebron doesn't but if you are going to use that argument than Robert Horry is a better player than Lebron, Ewing and Barkley. Get the hell outta here with that weak argument. It doesn't apply to this discussion.

NBA Finals Pick (who I want to win) - Dallas in 7
NBA Finals Pick (who I think is going to win) - Miami in 6

Day 8: Final note on Knicks, Yankees rollin' along and NFL Draft analysis

Let's get the hard one out of the way first. The New York Knicks. I will admit when the Knicks clinched a playoff berth this year, my mind went wild with the ideas of all they could do. I really believed anything was possible and I still believe that would have been the case if Chauncy and Amare weren't injured by the Boston Hacks. But in all the excitement of the games, I forgot one thing. That the Knicks accomplished exactly what they set out to accomplish at the beginning of the year. And no that wasn't to get swept in the playoffs. It was to make the playoffs. Realize people, the Knicks had just gone through some of worst records of their history the last few years. I watched every game the year the Knicks won 23 games under Isiah. Which means I watched 59 losses. As a real Knicks fan that stood by them through all their horrific last few years, what they did this year for me and for NYK fans cannot and should not be underestimated. They made the city alive again for basketball and they made good on their promise. One which, at the beginning of this year, seemed impossible. Its all about baby steps, people. One step at a time.

The Spankees!!! Love the way they have come out this year. I am worried about Soriano, though. I hope he is not one of those players in a long line of players that come here and can't handle the pressure and bomb, Randy Johnson and Carl Pavano to name a few. His stuff seems to still be there though (his fastball is clocking in at 97mph) so maybe its just a matter of time before he gets his act together. The starting pitching has been absolutely killing it. I can't ask for anything better so far. At the beginning of the year, that was my biggest question mark (except for Sabathia) and everyone, including Nova, Colon and Garcia have all stepped up. Keep it up, Bronx Bombers! So far, it's a great season to watch.

On to the NFL. I think the Giants did an amazing job with their draft picks this year. Yes, they waited until the fourth round to pick a LB which was probably their #1 need but seriously, how could you pass up on CB Prince Amukumara when you have the opportunity to get him? If you don't know what he's capable of. Watch the Sports Science video below. And I am not talking about all the crazy facts and figures that don't mean anything. I mean, specifically, watch the part of the video where he runs, dives laterally, changes his hand mid-flight and brings the ball down. Shit's crazy.

He's also versatile enough to play Safety if the Giants need him. Overall, great amazing pick and so happy he dropped down far enough for the G-Men to get him. Next pick, defensive lineman, Marvin Austin. Another awesome pick by the G-Men. He is a big guy who has great footwork and the quickness to make tackles on the outside as well as the ability to make plays in the backfield. Some questions remain about the fact that he didn't play last year and his overall work ethic, but if the Giants can pound the bs out of him, this kid could end up, alongside a healthy Osi, Tuck, and Kiwanuka, being just the piece the G-Men need to make their D unstoppable. I was actually surprised by the Giants next pick in Round 3, WR Jerrel Jernigan. That is one position I felt the Giants didn't really need any help with and with him, being as small as he is, not really being a go-to WR who can make an impact. That's when I realized he was primarily brought in to be a kick returner. When the Giants lost Hixon last year, I didn't realize fully how bad the season was going to turn out for special teams. Man, those runbacks and miscues were very hard to watch. Jerrel is just the answer we need in case Hixon doesn't come back to form or, god forbid, he gets injured again. Last year showed we definitely need a plan B.

Final Draft Grade for Giants: A-

Now, if we can only ensure there will be football next year. If the season doesn't start, I am going to go punch Goodell in the throat.

Day 7: The Yankees win! Theeeeeeee Yankees win!!! And so do the Knicks...

Sorry for the long delay between posts. I should have posted something after we got Melo but I wanted to see how the games would play out first.

Knicks fans are funny. Many of you will remember when the trade was going down, I, initially, was very hesitant to like this deal. Melo is amazing and so is Billups but I seemed to know one thing that a lot of fans seem to have either forgotten or ignored. And that is that there would be chemistry issues. The reason why I was hesitant about this deal was because I knew, in the interim, that it would hurt the Knicks. You can't bring a superstar of Melo's caliber on to a team that already has a superstar and expect them to click. Look at Miami if you want proof. Yeah, they are playing well now but they needed at least half the season to get in sync with each other. And this is after they had most of the summer and early fall to get to know each other and prepare. The Knicks have had only 21 games to get used to their new set of players. This trade was not done for this year. It was done to build for the future. Now, the Knicks still expect to make the playoffs and I still believe that once they do, anything can happen. But Melo was brought in to make the Knicks a championship team for the future and any chemistry issues on the court and even losing streaks in the meantime are to be expected. Everyone want's D'Antoni to be fired and even I will admit I get frustrated with his non-defensive ass. But honestly, that has always been D'Antoni's style. Mike Wilbon put it best on PTI. He said the Knicks D will be the Knicks D. It will be ok at best under D'Antoni. But once players get acclimated to his system and have the whole offseason to gel together, the system works because the Knicks will outscore and run everyone of the court. That is how they will win. And that is what D'Antoni's system is based on. Give him the offseason and the beginning of next year to see how the Knicks play together. If by the all-star break next year the Knicks are struggling, by all means, fire him. Until then, have a little freagin patience.

Next up, Opening Day 2011, baby!!! Haha. So excited about this year. The main reason I am excited is because the Yankees, for the first time in many years, are considered underdogs. And I agree that in the Yankees' division, Boston, with the signing of Crawford, is a formidable opponent. But, I swear I am not using my Yankee bias here, I think the Yankees are a better team than people are giving them credit for this year. Yes, they didn't get the superstar pitcher they wanted and they lost out on Cliff Lee, but honestly, the Yankees starting rotation, as is, is not all that bad. First off, you have Sabathia whose "bad" outings consist of games like yesterday where he gives up three runs. Next up, Burnett. Ok, admittedly, I am a little worried about Burnett. But honestly, I think last year's performance by him was an anomaly. He's had a few great years as a pitcher. The Yankees fired their pitching coach and I believe Burnett will be back to form this year. And when Burnett is on, he's unhittable. Phil Hughes is number 3. Nothing bad to say about the kid. He's good, he's young and he's chock full of potential, which leaves Ivan Nova as the #4 starter. I really like this kid. He's already proven himself as a solid pitcher in tough situations. I think he may have a breakout year for the Yanks and he'll win at least 10 games, I am sure.

On to the bullpen. This is where the Yankees are the strongest. Their bullpen, with revamped Joba (he lost 30 pounds this offseason and has been consistently throwing over 90 mph this preseason and yesterday), newly acquired setup man, Soriano (whose just plain nasty) and good ole' Mo is not an easy bunch of pitchers to face. If the Yankees starters can at least get into the 5th or 6th inning, the Yankees have the pitchers to put it away from there. As far as hitting, all I have to say is Texeira, Granderson, A-Rod, and Jeter (who I am sure will have a bounce back year. He has too much pride not too). All in all, I think this is a pretty good setup for a team who I think can go deep in the playoffs and contend for championship #28.

Woohoo! Baseball is back! On to game 2.....

Day 6: What the Knicks need to do and fast, Landry Fields as a Modell employee and Walt Clyde Frazier's style....

Wow..what a difference a month makes. A month ago, Knicks fans and management were wondering if they should even bring Carmelo over here during the middle of the season because they didn't want to mess up the "chemistry" the Knicks seemed to be having. I mean, why mess with a good thing, right? Especially since the Knicks seems to be the only team he wants to play for, why not wait until the end of the season and get him for free? Well Knicks fans, the time to push the panic button is here. With the Knicks losing 11 out of their last 19 games, the Knicks are officially in a tailspin and, if they continue playing the way they have been, are in danger of losing their spot in the playoffs.
Whoa whoa whoa, you might say. There's no way they are in danger of losing their spot in the playoffs, right? A month ago, they were solidly in the 6th spot with no real chance of falling out of it, right? Not to the lowly Sixers and Pacers? EHHHHH...WRONG! I am not sure a lot of Knicks fan realize this but their poor play of late means the Knicks are only 3.5 games ahead of the number 8 team. In other words, all it would take for the Knicks to drop out of the playoff picture is for the Knicks to lose 4 games and the Pacers to win 4 games during that span. For a team that a month ago was a no doubter for the playoffs, this is a scary new possibility. And as Knicks fans all know, anything less than a playoff berth this year would be a failure for this team. As bad as the Knicks have been, there was way too much hope (and money) being spent on this season for it to end without a playoff berth.
So what do the Knicks have to do? Well for starters, Donnie Walsh needs to work his magic and do what he needs to do to get Carmelo Anthony here before the trading deadline. Although I think the Knicks are still Melo's preferred destination, waiting until the trading deadline will only foster the doubt in his mind that the Knicks really want him if it hasn't already. Melo is scared about the collective bargaining agreement next year and wants to be signed or traded before the season is over and if the Knicks don't do something soon, the Nuggets may very well be there to secure his money for him. Also, this is the perfect time to pick him up. For one, the Knicks need a new energy and spark to snap them out of this funk they have been playing through. And two, the Knicks have very few games next week (1 to be exact) going into the All-Star Break. That leaves plenty of practice time which will be needed if the Knicks land Melo and he is to learn D'Antoni's system. If the Knicks wait until after the break, the schedule picks back up again and it would be hard to integrate him into the system especially when teams will be gearing up for the postseason.
The next thing the Knicks need to do is shore up their defense. Sounds easy, right? The Knicks are such an aggravating team to be a fan of because their play is so inconsistent. At times, their defensive effort is swarming and amazing and at other times, they look like spectators. Easy way to fix this solution? Play the players that put the defensive effort in. Gallo may not be the best defender but at least he tries. Play the Gallos, the Mosgov's and the Stoudemires..which of course the Knicks have. Likewise, bench the players that don't. Shawne Williams. Now, I know what you're thinking. How is the benching of one player going to really help the Knicks? Because I have seen him play and his defensive collapses happen on game changing moments where all the Knicks need is one stop and the Knicks have all the momentum. But nope, there's Shawne Williams missing three's and leaving men wide open. I get why D'Antoni of course plays Shawne Williams. His offense is focused on the three and Shawne Williams was the best in the league in three point field goal percentage (he has since dropped to number 2). But honestly, you only have to watch Shawne Williams play for like 5 minutes to realize he can't defend for his life. He almost never and I mean NEVER gets his hands up on his man and if he leaves his man wide open at the three point line while he is under the basket (which happens ALL the time. Watch the games and let me know if I am wrong here), he almost never runs out to put his hands up on his man. And now the one thing he was in the game for, hitting three's, he's not even doing anymore. Bench him! Screw it. At this point, the Knicks should replace him with Walker (who's defense is slightly better) or Rautins. They have nothing to lose at this point.
A third thing the Knicks can do to stop the losing? Get back to the pick and roll! It's not hard people. It was their bread and butter when they had Chris Duhon and David Lee. You don't think it would flourish with Felton and Stoudemire running it? The few times they have used it consistently (a month or so ago and at the beginning of the year) it was an unstoppable play. GET BACK TO IT. End of story.
There is this fear I have of Stoudemire realizing he made a mistake and getting tired of playing with young players who are inconsistent at best. I am afraid Stoudemire will turn into Marbury and lose interest. Not to insult Stoudemire though. I know he has more heart in his pinky than Marbury has in his whole body and that Marbury was just a plain old douche that didn't show up to practice or only played hard when he wanted to. But a veteran, especially a veteran who only has experienced success in his career, only needs to lose so many games before he gets disenfranchised. I think that breaking point for Stoudemire is a long ways away too. But its out there and its something Knicks management, players and fans should be aware of.
On a more light-hearted note, every wonder where Walt Clyde Frazier's outrageous outfits have been coming from lately? None other than Indian tailor Mohan "Mike" Ramchandani. Nice work, Mohan. Only Walt Clyde Frazier could pull these looks off:

What a pimp! I love him..lol :)

I wanted to end on a funny note. So, the following is a video of Landry Fields pretending to be a Modell's employee trying to sell his own jersey. This is a real video people and its hilarious. Thanks, Marcy for giving me the heads up on this! :)

Freagin' hilarious..LOL. Love this dude and his impression of Stoudemire is spot on. If basketball doesn't work out, this dude can definitely have a career in sales :)

Day 5: The Knicks upset the Heat, Charles Barkley is an idiot and a Melo update

It is 4 days after the Knicks beat the Heat and I have to say, being the die-hard Knicks fan that I am, it was nice to finally hear the Garden rocking again. It felt like a playoff game. The last time I remember the Garden that loud was Larry Johnson's 4 point play in the playoffs. For those of you who need to refresh your memory, the video is below:

I also don't remember the last time TNT televised a game at MSG. It had been awhile. However, the tradition of unnecessarily bashing the Knicks continued during the TNT broadcast. Sir Charles, although he stated that Landry Fields is better than John Wall, quickly made himself a fool by stating that the Knicks don't have the ability to win in the playoffs.

Really, Charles? Really? They can't win one series even? Now mind you, I know the Knicks are missing important pieces (ahem..MELO! Sorry strange cough there) that will make them a championship contender but to say that the Knicks can't win at all in the playoffs is like saying Charles Barkley is intelligent. It's just downright preposterous. Sorry Barkley, how about you stick to what you're good at? Like gambling away all your money or popping back burgers like they are mini-muffins. You fat buffoon.

Latest on the Melo front: Knicks are working on a deal to bring Mark Warkentien, ex GM of the Nuggets over to the Knicks as a consultant, the role that Isiah Thomas used to hold within the organization. This is a great move because not only does it keep Isiah from getting his job back but its another step in the Knicks pursuit of Melo. Warkentien is very close to Melo and when told that the Knicks offered a job to Warkentien, Melo seemed very surprised and said, "Did they really? Is that surprising? Yeah. It's a great addition to the organization, but you just really caught me off guard with that one." Hmmm..it sounds like Melo sounded surprised and maybe impressed, perhaps? I guess we'll know by February 24th.

Day 4: Melo, the Nets, Mets and Jets....

By now, we have all heard multiple reports on Melo's future. He's going to stay with the Nuggets, he's going to sign with the Knicks, he's going to the Nets (Bahahahaha! Nets fan were stupid to think that this would actually happen) and at one point or another, there could have been truth in any of these reports. Melo mentioned in an interview with ESPN a couple of weeks ago, that it is his dream to play in NY. I think by now we all know he was talking about the Knicks and not the "Brooklyn" Nets (They will always be a NJ team to me) seeing as how he refused to even meet with them. Side note here, the Nets are such an unattractive destination for any NBA player that Chauncy Billups mentioned he would rather buy out his own contract than play for the Nets. LOL.
Here's another angle to the rumors. Although this is a sports blog, seeing how I am a girl and girls love gossip (Just admit it ladies), I decided to throw in some sports gossip to the Melo debate in order to spice things up a bit and add some more fuel to the fire. I just found out that Amare Stoudemire is dating Ciara. What does this have to do with the Carmelo Anthony you ask? Well, little known fact is that Ciara is best friends with Lala Vasquez...wife of Carmelo Anthony. Hmm, I wonder if Amare is using Ciara to get to Melo. I guess that would be a win-win situation for him either way.
On to the NFL. It's the day after the Jets lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Seeing as how I am a Giants fan, I didn't really have much invested into the game and didn't really care either way. That being said, as a New Yorker, it would have been nice to see the other NY team move on to the Superbowl (I am pretty sure I lost all the Mets fans there with that concept). Plus also, I think we all wanted to see what Rex Ryan and the rest of the entertaining Jets would have said before the big game. There would have been cheese jokes and foot jokes galore and it would have great. But I guess it wasn't meant to be......
Anyone else thinking this is all leading up to a Giants/Jets Superbowl in the Meadowlands in 2014? I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
